Headland has appointed Janine Lloyd-Jones as Partner, strengthening the firm’s crisis, risk and strategic communications capabilities as the firm builds a broader, more international offer for clients.
Janine joins from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), where she was Director of Communication and a member of the Board and Executive Committee, leading a global function of over 700 communications professionals.
Prior to this, she was Director of Marketing and Communication at Faculty AI, one of the UK’s most successful AI stories, serving on the senior leadership team during a pivotal period of growth as the company evolved from a consultancy-led model into a product-focused AI business ahead of its $1bn acquisition by Accenture in 2026.
Janine brings more than 20 years’ experience across Government, including senior roles at No.10 Downing Street, the Home Office and the Department for Work and Pensions.
Dan Mines, CEO of Headland, said: “Janine is an outstanding communications professional who brings to clients unrivalled expertise in crisis, risk and strategic counsel, having operated at the highest levels of government for over two decades. During that time she handled some of the most complex and fast-moving issues on both a UK and international stage, and her appointment adds even more heft to our client offer as we continue to grow the business.”
Janine Lloyd-Jones said: “Headland does brilliant work with many incredible clients and I am thrilled to be joining them as they continue to grow and expand their offer. I look forward to working with both new and existing clients to help bring clarity and coherence to communication.
“Businesses today face an onslaught of reputational challenges, exacerbated by geopolitical volatility. So I am particularly excited to be developing Headland’s offer to help clients navigate these issues; reducing organisations’ risk profiles and shoring up resilience.”
Her work has often sat at the intersection of business, economics and politics, including leading strategic economic communication at No 10 in the aftermath of the global financial crash, and supporting engagement with the Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Group.
Janine has advised Prime Ministers, Secretaries of State, senior officials and global stakeholders through high-profile domestic and international issues, including Brexit, Covid-19, the wars in Afghanistan and Ukraine and developments in the Middle East.
She brings deep expertise in geopolitical risk, crisis communications and organisational transformation, adding further depth to Headland’s ability to support clients through complex, high-stakes and multi-stakeholder situations.
Her appointment builds on the firm’s continued growth and momentum, following the acquisition of Bladonmore in November 2025, an international digital, brand and content business, and the appointment of Jim Houghton as Chief Financial Officer in April this year.
