Ed Young Managing Director

From 2012 to 2018, Ed worked with one of Britain’s most iconic companies during some of the most challenging years in its history. First as an adviser to Tesco, and subsequently as Corporate Communications Director, Ed helped the business rebuild trust with colleagues, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders as part of its turnaround. A key focus was helping Tesco play a leading role in the emerging war on food waste.

Ed joined Tesco from Brunswick, where clients included Tesco, Kingfisher and HSBC. Ed’s career began with five years at Conservative Campaign Headquarters, where he was a Speechwriter to David Cameron and Chief of Staff to the Chairman. In the 2017 General Election, Ed stood as the Conservative Candidate in York Central. Alongside his work at Headland, Ed is a Trustee of the Richard Shephard Music Foundation, which aims to help bring music and music education to more children in primary schools across Yorkshire and the North East.
